SEEC-SF programs are designed to follow the state-mandated guidelines for standards-based content.
Sample activities
Students in SEEC-SF programs can:

  • Grow native plants for restoration projects
  • Remove invasive species
  • Examine adaptations of native plants to San Francisco's environment
  • Learn about the ecology of San Francisco's dunes, grasslands, wetlands, and oak woodlands
  • Examine processes of soil formation and decomposition
  • Measure water quality and research issues of water source and supply
  • Participate in quantitative monitoring of natural systems
  • Investigate aspects of the food web
  • Study local California Indian cultures
